Roster change for GB Under-18s

Great Britain Under-18s have had to make a second roster change to their squad for April’s World Championship in Gangneung.

Defenceman Liam Redwood is unable to travel to the tournament, so will be replaced by d-man Luke Jackson on the 23-man roster.

GB face hosts Korea, along with Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania and Romania, in the Division 2A tournament from 1st to 8th April 2017.

Head coach, Martin Grubb, said: “Luke is a player who was very unlucky not to be named in our original roster.

“We gave him feedback and told him to stay positive and ready, as we know there are always potential changes to teams at this level.

“He is a big guy who plays a physical game, takes care of his defensive zone first and has a big shot and I know he has been working very hard to be a part of this team.

“It is always important to bring players in that fit into the group and the positive characteristics that Luke has will allow him to do that with ease.

“We look forward to working with him and welcoming Luke and his team-mates to our pre-tournament camp in Slovakia before we fly to Korea.

“I know he is excited to be part of this team and he will do a great job.”

The other change to the 23-man roster was made back in January when Caly Robertson replaced Richard Krogh.
