After a 14-hour travel day Great Britain’s Under 18 squad have arrived at their base in Brasov, Romania.

Martin Grubb’s squad left Coventry in the early hours of Saturday morning and flew out of Heathrow Airport later that morning.  After landing in Bucharest it was a further two-plus hours by coach to the Transylvanian city of Brasov.

The squad paid a short visit to the Olympic Ice Rink which is the home of the Division 2A tournament, a 2000 capacity rink opened in 2010.  They set up their dressing room ready for their first on-ice session on Sunday.

Head coach Martin Grubb said: “It’s been a tiring day but we are here and ready to go. We’ve got a whole day of preparation on Sunday before our first game so we’ll make sure nothing is left to chance and everyone is as prepared as they can be.”

Great Britain face top seeds Lithuania at 3pm UK time on Monday (5pm local time) in their opening game.  The IIHF tournament website is at http://www.iihf.com/competition/549/statistics.html
