Great Britain Under-18’s matches at the upcoming IIHF World Championship in Tallinn will be shown on free-to-air television by UK sports broadcaster FreeSports.

Britain will face Australia, Korea, Lithuania and Poland, along with hosts Estonia in Division 2 Group A of the World Championship structure.

The six-team tournament runs from 1st to 7th April 2018.

Ice Hockey UK chairman, Rich Grieveson, said: “It’s fantastic that GB’s games at the tournament will be shown live on free-to-air television.

“These players are our future and it will be great to have them showcased at an important World Championship.

“We have a very good partnership with FreeSports and Premier Sports who cover GB extensively and we welcome them on-board again.”

Richard Webb, operations manager at FreeSports, said: “Following on from the well-received coverage of the U20 World Championship in Dumfries, we are delighted to be able to bring the future of ice hockey in Great Britain on free-to-air television.

“This coverage adds to our support of ice hockey in GB as we will be bringing live coverage of the Great Britain Men and 25 matches from the top-flight IIHF World Championship in May.”

Commentary will come from Aaron Murphy and former GB player Paul Adey.
