Disappointment for GB as under-16s trip to Barcelona is called off
Great Britain Under-16s’ trip to the international tournament in Barcelona has been called off.
The tournament, which was set to involve GB, Spain, Poland and Hungary, was due to take place from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th April 2017.
But Poland and Hungary advised the Spanish organisers that they would not be able to participate and declined to enter the tournament, so the trip will now not go ahead.
Ice Hockey UK general secretary, Andy French, said: “This is really disappointing but there is nothing we can do.
“We are now actively looking for a replacement tournament and hopefully something will be put in place.
“We have already contacted other federations and are working with various associations to hopefully find a resolution.”
