Great Britain will face Slovakia in an international challenge game as part of their preparations for the World Championship.

The game will take place in the Slovakian city of Poprad on Saturday 4th May (4pm local time) and forms part of GB’s camp in Slovakia ahead of the IIHF top-flight tournament.

It means GB will play six warm-up games this year, which started with the sold-out match in Coventry as Pete Russell’s side beat KHL side Riga 3-1 at the Skydome.

Britain will also face Italy in the Skydome on Friday 19th April and Hungary in Planet Ice Milton Keynes on Sunday 21st April.

GB will then play KHL team Torpedo on Saturday 27th April in the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and at the Fly DSA Arena Sheffield on Sunday 28th April.

More information about ticket sales for GB’s four matches in the UK will be announced next week.

Great Britain are based in Kosice in Group A for the World Championship and will face Germany, Canada, Denmark, USA, Finland, Slovakia and France between 11th and 20th May.
