Great Britain will renew their rivalry with Italy twice next month as part of their preparations for this year’s World Championship.

The matches will take place on Thursday 5th May in Milton Keynes (7:30pm) and Tuesday 10th May (7:30pm) in Coventry, with tickets going on sale at 10am on Thursday.

It means GB will have four games ahead of the top-level tournament with the already-announced games against Denmark in Coventry on Saturday 7th May (7pm) and Nottingham on Sunday 8th May (4pm).

GB Head Coach, Pete Russell, said: “We have a shorter preparation time than in the past couple of years, so getting these games in are crucial.

“We have a great respectful rivalry with Italy and we know they will be a tough test for us.”

The two sides last met at the Skydome in April 2019 with Luke Ferrara and Ollie Betteridge scoring for GB in a 5-2 defeat.

GB’s last victory over Italy came in their famous World Championship Division I Group A promotion-winning campaign in Hungary in 2018, when two goals from Brett Perlini and a goal each for Robert Dowd and Ben O’Connor saw Britain record a thrilling 4-3 victory.
