It wasn’t just the UK and Latvian media who covered last week’s Great Britain against Riga game, interest came from Slovakia ahead of the World Championship in Bratislava and Kosice.

GB will return to the top flight of world ice hockey for the first time since 1994 when they play at the elite level this May.

A Slovakia television station was at the Skydome as GB beat the KHL side 3-1 and they spoke with head coach Pete Russell and forward Robert Farmer, as well as focusing on the future with a special feature about the youth set-up in Manchester.

Features were aired on Slovak news channel TA3 and Slovak commercial TV JOJ.
