A number of camps have been confirmed for Great Britain’s junior teams in June and July.

Ice Sheffield will be the venue for a three-day camp in June, with the under-18 and under-16 women taking to the ice on 17th June.

The under-20, under-18 and under-16 men’s squads will then undergo camps on 18th and 19th June, while there will also be a two-day camp in Dundee on 23rd and 24th July.

National Development Head Coach, Tony Hand, said: “It is fantastic to see our junior sides return to the ice and I know everyone is very excited.

“Over 300 players are expected to take part in the camps and the coaching staff of each team will get their chance to evaluate and prepare the great talent we have in the junior programme at the moment.

“There will also be over 30 members of coaching staff across the five junior teams and it’s important to help them prepare as well.

“While there will be no World Championship competition for the youngsters this season, it is important to get them back on the ice as soon as possible and start planning for the 2022 tournaments.”

Camps will take place in covid-secure environments in line with government requirements at the time.

“A lot of planning has gone into these camps and we have to keep everyone as safe as possible,” added Hand.

“We have worked hard with doctor Matt Robbins to make sure every base is covered and our athletes will feel they are training in a safe environment.”

Mowbray Sports will be attending the training camps if any junior player wishes to purchase GB apparel.
