All five of Great Britain’s games at this week’s IIHF World Championship Division 1 Group B will be on the BBC.

The games will be broadcast live with radio commentary on either BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra or the BBC Sports website.

GB begin the six-team tournament against Croatia on Sunday, before meeting Estonia, Lithuania, Netherlands and Japan.

Andy French, IHUK general secretary, said: “It is great news that we are linking up with the BBC again.

“They have covered GB for a long time now and it is fantastic they will be able to cover an historic moment in UK ice hockey.”

Belfast’s SSE Arena will host the first men’s World Championship in the UK for 25 years.

The commentary will come from Seth Bennett, who said: ” This will be an historic tournament for British ice hockey and it is going to be fantastic for fans across the globe on 5 Live Sports Extra and the BBC Sport website.

“Having gone so close in Eindhoven and then again in Zagreb 12 months ago, Belfast 2017 could be GB’s golden moment and it will be live on the BBC.”
