Great Britain took part in the ISBHF World Junior Ball Hockey Cup in the Czech Republic at the weekend and despite some tough results, they had many reasons to hold their heads high.

GB Women (under-18s) returned home with the bronze after finishing third in the three-team tournament.

GB Men (under-16s) finished sixth in their six-team tournament, but both teams produced some fantastic performances.

Ball hockey UK president, Rob Clayton, said: “This was a great tournament for both teams.

“The U18 Girls, which is a new team for us, provided the first taste of international tournament play for several players.

“We had a very young team, with the youngest player 12 years old.

“The U16 Boys closed the gap on the top nations compared to a year ago.

“We have some talented young players in this age group, many of whom will be eligible to play again in next year’s tournament.”
