Great Britain play the first of four pre-World Championship internationals this evening as they face Italy in Milton Keynes (7:30pm).

GB reported to their training camp at the Skydome on Tuesday afternoon and had their first training session, followed by two more practices yesterday.

Italy arrived in the UK yesterday and will be based in Coventry for the next week as part of their training camp, which also includes the game against GB on Tuesday at the Skydome.

Both sides then travel to Finland next week for the World Championship, with Italy based in Group A in Helsinki and GB in Group B in Tampere.

Since GB and Italy won promotion in Hungary in 2018, they are yet to face each other at a top-level World Championship.

Recent Meetings
The two sides last met at the Skydome in April 2019 with Luke Ferrara and Ollie Betteridge scoring for GB in a 5-2 defeat, while Diego Kostner, Anthony Bardaro, Tommaso Goi, Ivan Tauferer and Giovanni Morini were on target for Italy.

GB’s last victory over Italy came in their famous World Championship Division I Group A promotion-winning campaign in Hungary in 2018, when two goals from Brett Perlini and a goal each for Robert Dowd and Ben O’Connor saw Britain record a thrilling 4-3 victory.

Team News
Both sides will name 23-man matchnight rosters shortly ahead of face-off this evening.

With the addition of Joe Hazeldine and Ross Venus yesterday, GB currently having 27 players at training camp.

Italy have brought a 28-man squad with them to the UK, including Cardiff Devils forward Brandon McNally and Sheffield Steelers forward Tommaso Traversa.
