A tournament two years in the making, GB Women finally play a competitive game in Jaca today against Chinese Taipei (4pm local, 3pm UK).

Originally due to take place in March 2020 this Division 2 Group A event was hit by the COVID-19 outbreak and has been cancelled twice but the action gets underway eventually today.

GB held their first on-ice practice yesterday, Saturday, and had a morning skate earlier today.

Chinese Taipei represent a new opponent for Great Britain but one not to be underestimated. With only four games this week due to the withdrawal of DPR Korea every game takes on a greater significance in the quest for gold medal and promotion.

Emily Harris will receive her debut cap today – again two years later than originally planned – becoming the 139th player to represent GB Women.

For those unable to travel to Spain, the action can be watched on the tournament YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/N4avfGiAuOM

Ice Hockey UK TV in association with SMP Europe will have highlights and reaction later this evening.

For now watch the latest edition after practice on Saturday with thoughts of Jeff Colton, Chloe Headland and Ellie Wakeling.
