Great Britain’s come-from-behind victory over France at the 2019 World Championship has been voted as the best-ever in an online poll.

A total of 67.2% of voters picked last year’s dramatic final game at the World Championship in Kosice as their favourite – a match that saw GB avoid relegation and secure another season in the top flight of world ice hockey as they came from 3-0 down to win 4-3 in overtime.

Meanwhile, 29% picked the 2018 World Championship Division I Group A match in Budapest against Hungary as their best, when Robert Farmer’s goal 15 seconds from time secured GB they point they need for promotion to the top flight. On this occasion, GB came from two down to tie the game at 2-2, with the added drama of a Ben Bowns penalty-shot save thrown in for good measure.

And 2.5% selected the 2015 World Championship Division I Group B game in Eindhoven against Croatia as their most memorable. Mark Richardson scored five seconds from the end and 11 seconds into overtime as GB overturned a one-goal deficit into a 2-1 victory.
