GB Women’s University side all set for opening game against Kazakhstan

Great Britain Women’s University side have had good on-ice sessions ahead of their first game at the 28th Winter Universiade in Almaty

GB take on hosts Kazakhstan at 8pm local time (2pm UK time) tomorrow.

Britain left the UK for Almanty on Wednesday and coach James Ashton believes the extra preparation has been of benefit to his side.

“It was a definite positive to come out two days early,” said Ashton.

“All the players are well over jet lag and have coped well with the time difference.

“We have had good training sessions and the players are very positive.

“We have a a training session in the morning as final preparation for the first game.”
