Great Britain Under-16s have taken part in their final camp ahead of naming their team for an international tournament in Latvia later this year.

The GB youngsters had on and off-ice sessions on Wednesday at Ice Sheffield in front of the under-16s coaches and National Development Head Coach, Tony Hand.

The tournament runs from 17th to 19th April and GB’s team will be announced next week.

The international competition consists of teams from Belarus, Finland Latvia, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine,

Head coach, Mike Clancy, said: “The training session was a very useful day and it underlined the young talent in the GB programme at the moment.

“There is a lot of competition for places for the squad for Latvia, so the coaching staff have some difficult decisions to make but it is a good position to be in.

“This trip may not be a World Championship but it is excellent preparation at this level and some of these players will go on to represent GB further in their careers.

“We will come up against some excellent young players and it will be a real test for our youngsters.”
