Fife Falcons travel to the Bauer Arena at Ice Sheffield this weekend aiming to win the Ice Hockey UK U20 Championship for the second year in a row.

The Falcons will face English champions Coventry Blaze on Saturday in a repeat of last year’s final.

Goals by Scott Jamieson and Chad Smith gave Fife a 2-0 victory in Dumfries and the team will head to South Yorkshire full of confidence after completing the league and cup double this season.

Fife’s 3-2 road victory over Solway Sharks during March booked their place in the final, while Coventry claimed their second successive league title in England with a 1-0 success against Whitley Bay back in February.

The Scottish side head to Sheffield on the back of an impressive performance against Solway in the final of the Scottish U20 Cup.

Period scores of 5-0, 6-2 and 2-0 sealed an impressive 13-2 success for Fife, but they are likely to find things much tougher against a Coventry side who went unbeaten during their league campaign.

The game, which is part of the EIHA’s National Finals Weekend, will be screened live on FreeSports from 2:30pm.
