Fresno Monsters defenceman Deakan Fielder has replaced Bradley Bowering in the GB Under-20s squad for this month’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament in Tallinn.

Peterborough blueliner Bowering has had to pull out of the squad because of injury.

GB meet hosts Estonia, as well as Korea, Lithuania, Romania and Spain from 13th to 19th January 2019 at the Tondiraba Ice Hall.

Britain start the six-team tournament against Lithuania on 13th January and then play Korea the next day.

After a rest day, Britain go head-to-head with Estonia on 16th January and then meet Romania on 17th January.

The second rest day follows before GB play their final match when they take on Spain on 19th January.

Under-20s head coach, Slava Koulikov, said: “It is never ideal to make a change this close to a tournament and we are disappointed to lose Bradley.

“However, such is the strength-in-depth in the junior programme at the moment, it means that we have a quality replacement in Deakan coming into the line-up.”
