Forward Robert Farmer says Great Britain will “do whatever it takes” to win a gold medal as they face a final-day showdown against Ukraine in Zagreb this afternoon.

After winning their previous four matches in the Dom Sportova Arena this week, GB need a point against Ukraine to earn promotion to Division 1A

“We will do whatever it takes to win the gold medal,” said the Nottingham Panthers forward.

“We want to take all the good things we have done this week into the game.

“Everyone is very focused and excited about the game with Ukraine.

“We have had a great week so far and all the boys have worked so hard every night.

“We have a great spirit in the room and I think that has shown out on the ice.”

GB will once again be backed by nearly 300 supporters and it is something which has not gone unnoticed by Farmer.

“The fans have been brilliant all week as usual,” he said.

“They make so much noise and it really does drive us on.”

GB against Ukraine faces-off at 1pm in Zagreb this afternoon (12noon UK time).
