Nottingham Panthers produced one of the best results in British ice hockey history as they beaten Czech Republic side Mountfield 4-2 in the Champions Hockey League.

It was the first time a side from the UK has won away from home in the CHL and it was possibly the biggest shock since the formation of the Champions Hockey League in 2014-15.

Two goals from Josh Shalla, to take his tournament tally to four, and one each by Dan Spang and Alexander Mokshantsev secured Panthers the three points.

Meanwhile, Cardiff Devils put in a battling performance by were beaten 5-2 by Liberec of the Czech Republic.

Joey Martin and Drew Paris gave the Devils a two-goal first period lead, but the Czech side hit back to win the game, making sure of the points with an empty-net goal.
