Ryan Aldridge has stood down from his position as Great Britain Under-16s Assistant Coach following his appointment as Head Coach of NIHL side Leeds Knights.

GB Under-18s Head Coach Sean Easton will travel to Latvia in April for the Riga Hockey Cup as part of the under-16s coaching set-up, alongside U16s Head Coach Jamie Elson and Assistant Coach Ian Turley.

Ice Hockey UK National Development Head Coach, Tony Hand MBE, said: “I’d like to thank Ryan for his work with the under-16s.

“Ryan has been a great part of our programme for the past year and I totally understand why he took this difficult decision.

“I’d also like to thank Sean Easton for joining the under-16s coaching staff for next month’s trip to Riga.

“Sean is one of the best British coaches in the game and with him going to Riga it’s beneficial for a variety of reasons.

“Not only will his experience be hugely important to the other coaches, but it also links nicely with his Head Coach role of the under-18s.

“Some of the players selected for the under-16s trip to Latvia are the under-18s players of the future, so this will give Sean a great opportunity to evaluate them.”

Last month, GB named a 22-player roster to take part in the Riga Hockey Cup from 22nd to 24th April.

Teams from across Europe will take part in the competition, with full details to be announced shortly.
