Nottingham Panthers Director of Hockey Gui Doucet says Great Britain Goaltending Coach Euan King is a huge asset to the club.

King has linked-up with the Panthers for the Elite Series and is working with GB netminders Ben Bowns and Jackson Whistle, as well as Great Britain U20s netminder Will Kerlin.

The tournament is forming part of GB’s preparation for the World Championship in Latvia which gets under way next month.

Doucet said in an interview with BBC Nottingham Sport: “Euan has been a big help for us in this series. He’s very committed and he loves the game.

“It’s great for us with Rick (Strachan) retiring to have one more person around. He helps us take stats during the game and he helps us with the goalies tremendously.”

King stood alongside Doucet on the Panthers bench on Sunday as Head Coach Tim Wallace was forced to self-isolate after someone on his flight to the UK tested positive for covid-19.

“We were lucky to have him chipping in on gameday when Tim was not able to be there,” continued Doucet.

“All three of our goalies have worked with him previously and they love working with him, so it’s great to have him on-board.”
