Ice Hockey UK’s Under-20s National Final will be held as part of the EIHA’s National Finals weekend.

It is the first time that showpiece U20s final will be part of National Finals weekend and the final will be between Coventry Blaze and Fife Falcons on Saturday 5th May.

Ice Sheffield will host the three-day event over early May bank holiday weekend from Saturday 5th to Monday 7th May.

JLMC National Finals also features the best teams from across the country at U11, U13, U15 and U18 level.

Ice Hockey UK general secretary, Andy French, said: “IHUK are grateful to the JLMC for hosting the U20 National Final as part of their finals weekend.

“This is the third year of IHUK U20s and the first hosted in England.

“Coventry will look to make home advantage count, while the Scottish finalists will want to follow Fife’s victory at Dumfries last year.”

Chair of JLMC, Jacqueline Pye, said: “We are looking forward to the expanded National Finals weekend, taking advantage of the bank holiday to provide three full days of junior ice hockey championships.

“This year we’ve brought the U18 competiton back into Finals weekend and we’re honoured to have the Ice Hockey UK U20 championship game here as well.

“It will be a busy weekend with a lot of hockey, but the players and teams have earned their places and deserve their chance to play for a national title.”

Admission to the Bauer Arena Ice Sheffield will be free for spectators but there will be souvenir programmes, merchandise and a fundraising for the JLMC-nominated charities British Heart Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

The full timetable will be published very shortly when timings are confirmed with Ice Sheffield.
