Forward David Clarke says a large backing from Great Britain supporters in two matches against Poland this weekend will be a great way to prepare for the World Championship later this month.

GB play Poland at the National Ice Centre on Friday (7:30pm) before the two sides go head-to-head in Coventry’s Skydome on Saturday (1pm).

The games are part of both sides’ preparations for their respective World Championship tournaments, with GB hosting the Division 1 Group B event this year in Belfast.

Clarke said: “It would be fantastic to get massive crowds at the NIC and the Skydome this weekend.

“Both games are always well attended and it would be great to see that happen again.

“This year’s World Championship is going to be very special with it being held on home ice and these Poland games are just what we need to prepare.

“They are a quality opposition from the division above and games are always very close.

“I hope as many people as possible will get down to Nottingham and Coventry and if they can get over to Belfast too, that would be fantastic.”

“The fans’ support is huge and can be like an extra player to us.”
