The second season of the EIHA Under-20 league will see two divisions of seven teams taking part.

League chiefs have confirmed the structure for 2016-17, which will end with a North v South playoff at EPL Finals weekend, as well as the respective league winners representing England at the Ice Hockey UK U20 Finals against the top sides from Scotland.

Teams will play each other a total of three times for an 18-game season. They will play three teams twice at home and once away, and the other three teams once at home and twice away.

The fixtures secretary is working with clubs to draw up the schedule which will be released in due course.

Last year, Sheffield Scimitars, Guildford and Billingham won their respective leagues.

Sheffield progressed direct to IHUK Finals while Billingham defeated Guildford 9-7 at EPL Finals weekend to join them in the Final Four.

Sheffield eventually defeated Fife Falcons in sudden-death overtime to win the inaugural IHUK U20 National Championship at Dumfries Ice Bowl in May.
