Elite League side Cardiff Devils are the UK’s representative in this season’s Continental Cup and will host a third-round group stage in the tournament’s 25th anniversary season.

The teams, groups, dates and hosts were confirmed this week and 20 clubs from 20 countries will compete in the four-stage Continental Cup next season between September 2022 and January 2023.

As in recent years, the IIHF Continental Cup winner will have the chance to qualify for the Champions Hockey League of the following season pending formal approval by the CHL board.

The first round takes place in September with round two being held in October, but Cardiff will join the tournament in the third round.

The Ice Arena Wales will host Group E from 18th to 20th November and the Devils will be joined by Kazakh champion Saryarka Karaganda, Latvian champion Zemgale Jelgava and a qualifier from the second round.
