Defenceman David Phillips becomes the sixth Great Britain player to reach the 100-cap milestone as Great Britain face Romania at the World Championship Division I Group A at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.

He joins David Longstaff, Ashley Tait, Jonathan Phillips, Matthew Myers and Mark Richardson hitting a century of appearances for GB.

Phillips was given his debut by Rick Strachan in the 2006 World Championship in Amiens and scored his first GB goal in an 11-1 victory over Romania in the Olympic Qualifiers in Poland in 2008.

The blueliner has scored seven goals and 22 assists for 29 points in his 18-year international career.

Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Corey Neilson was presented with a special 50th cap.

Neilson made 10 appearances as a player in the World Championship tournaments of 2010 and 2011, scoring two goals and four assists for six points.

He’s since been behind the bench for 40 games, winning two silver and two gold medals for GB.
