It’s not just the Great Britain team representing the nation at the World Championship in Finland, UK official Danny Beresford is officiating at the top level for the first time in his career.

He joins Andy Dalton (2019), Matthew Folka (2004) and Moray Hanson (2004) with the distinction of UK officials working in the top pool.

Beresford is based in Group A in Helsinki and has noted the speed and skill of the top-ranked nations.

“My first game here, when I jumped on, the step up in level was unbelievable,” Beresford said.

“The speed, the skill of the guys, everything was unbelievable. But you quickly settle in. The game may be at a higher level, but your job remains the same.”
