Forward Ben Davies has been reflecting on his overtime goal and Great Britain’s stunning comeback against France to ensure their survival at the 2019 World Championship in Slovakia.

In a feature interview with BBC Wales, the Cardiff Devils forward looks back at his career including that famous night in Kosice.

GB were trailing 3-0 against France and looked set to be relegated, before goals from Robert Dowd, Mike Hammond and Robert Farmer took the game to overtime.

Davies combined with captain Jonathan Phillips to score one of the most important goals in GB history.

“That goal is something I’ll always be able to look back on, I watch it back and it was awesome,” Davies told the BBC.

“It was huge for us as a nation to prove we could be in that league and compete. It was bonkers after that goal, the celebration on the ice was immense.

“We went out afterwards and it’s something everyone in that team will look back on forever.”
