Great Britain Under-16s beat Majadahonda 10-1 in Madrid ahead of the international tournament which gets under way tomorrow.

But they were made to work hard for their win, despite the youngsters dominating for large spells of the game.

Mason Biddulph (Chelmsford) netted a hat-trick and Kieron Brown (Iowa Wild) scored twice.

There was a goal each for Jamie Ord (Whitley Bay), Garry Simpson (Kirkcaldy), Liam Redwood (Nottingham), Lewis Houston (Solway) and Aiden Strangeway (Notre Dame).

Assistant coach, Sean Easton, said: “It was another warm-up game for the coaches to finalise where we want to be as a team before the tournament starts.

“It was a long day for the team and they looked mentally and physically tired, but this is a learning curve for these players.

“The team now look forward to the start of the tournament with three games on Saturday.”

Mason Biddulph was named man of the match.

GB will now play three games tomorrow (Saturday), facing Spain, Mannheim and Rouen.
