Great Britain Under-18 Women have appointed Alfie Martin as their Sport Rehabilitator.
Martin, who is the lead Strength and Conditioning coach with Coventry Blaze in the Elite League, replaces Laura-Jo Bowler who had to stand down because of work commitments.
Ice Hockey UK Chief Medical Officer, Matt Robbins, said: “I would like to thank Laura-Jo for her work with the GB programme over the past year.
“Alfie has been part of our off-ice team in the past and I welcome him to his permanent position in the GB Women’s Under-18 programme.”
Martin said: “I am really excited to join the GB ice hockey set-up and hopefully help the new generation of British female athletes follow the paths of some recent success seen by the GB Women’s team.
“Previously, I have worked in different sports including rugby and football before I joined Milton Keynes Lightning ice hockey club.
“I have spent the past three years with the Blaze and recently took up a strength and conditioning coach role with the club.
“Drawing on these experiences, I am looking forward to helping the development of the under-18 women’s team and help them achieve their goals.”
