CLEMENTS: VERY HIGH-PACED AND COMPETE LEVEL IS HIGH

David Clements says the first two days of Great Britain’s pre-World Championship training camp has been full of energy.

The team have already undergone three training sessions since meeting in Coventry on Wednesday and now complete their first week of camp with another session today.

The 26-year-old has been named in a full World Championship squad for the first time after previously representing GB at junior level.

“Its been something new for me for sure, but it has been good to get with the group of players we have and get the ice-time,” said the Coventry Blaze defenceman.

“Its been very high-paced and the compete level has been really good. So far so good and I have been really happy with it.”

Clements made nine appearances for the under-18s and was captain in 2012, while he also won five caps for GB U20s.

“Anytime you get selected to play for your country it’s a huge honour,” continued Clements.

“Especially with where this team has gone in the past four or five years, it’s a massive honour to be a part of.

“I am really proud to represent GB at this year’s World Championship.”

GB will face Russia, Slovakia, Denmark, Belarus, Sweden, Czech Republic and Switzerland between 22nd May and 1st June at the Group A venue of the Olympic Sports Centre in Riga, Latvia.
