Defenceman Steve Lee says Great Britain cannot let their guard down again as they go into their final three matches at the World Championship in Slovakia.
GB have impressed the ice hockey world with many of their performances so far and ran USA close on Wednesday, before losing 6-3 to the world’s fourth-seeded team.
They return to action this evening when they face Finland in the Steel Arena at 8:15pm (7:15pm UK), before finishing the tournament with matches against Slovakia and France.
Lee said: “I think we have only been really disappointed once this tournament and that was our showing against Denmark.
“Of course, we are not happy we have no points so far but we knew it would be a massive challenge at this level.
“After not being at our best against Denmark, I thought we really bounced back against the USA.
“That was a great game to play in – it was a lot of fun – and I think we really made the supporters proud.”
Finland are currently second in Group A with 10 points from four matches, including three wins and an overtime loss.
“Make no mistake about it, this will be another very tough game for us,” added Lee.
“But we know we can compete with the best now, especially with the way we played against the USA.
“Our main focus was always to stay up and that hasn’t changed. The boys are in great spirits and ready to go.”
