Great Britain play their third game at this year’s World Championship this afternoon as they face Denmark in the World Championship in Kosice.
Denmark started the tournament with a dramatic 5-4 penalty-shot victory over France, which was followed by a 2-1 defeat by Germany.
GB lost 3-1 to Germany in their first game with Mike Hammond on target for Peter Russell’s side, while on Sunday they were beaten 8-0 by number one seeds Canada.
GB and Denmark have met 24 times in total with GB winning nine, Denmark 11 and there have been four ties.
It’s the first meeting since 2002 when Denmark won 5-3 in Hungary on their way to the World Championship top flight.
The first game between the two sides was in 1971 at the World Championship in Nijmegen with GB winning 5-4, while Great Britain’s last victory was a 5-4 success in 2000 in Katowice.
