FERRARA: POSITIVE FIRST TRAINING SESSION IN KOSICE

Forward Luke Ferrara says the squad underwent a “very positive first training session” in Kosice as Great Britain step up their preparations for Saturday’s opening World Championship game with Germany.

GB arrived from their training camp in Michalovce this lunchtime before taking to the ice this afternoon for a session in the Steel Arena’s practice rink.

Britain will return to the ice tomorrow lunchtime ahead of the first of seven Group A games in Kosice.

“It was good to finally get to the venue and get on the ice in Kosice,” said Ferrara.

“We had a fantastic week in Michalovce but it now feels very real by being at the tournament venue.

“The team are just raring to get started if I am honest. This is the most exciting thing to be a part of for a generation.

“We know we are going to have to raise our game and we saw that against Slovakia last weekend.

“But it is a challenge we are really looking forward to undertaking.”

GB also play Canada, Denmark, USA, Finland, Slovakia and France, with the group stage running until 20th May.
