Tickets for the IIHF World Championship in Slovakia next year will go on sale from Wednesday 19th September.

It’s the day that thousands of Great Britain supporters have been waiting for since their dramatic promotion in Budapest in April.

GB will play in the top flight of world ice hockey for the first time since 1994 when the tournament gets under way next May.

Britain are in Group A which is based in Kosice and games are taking place at the Steel Arena.

GB and Germany go head to head on Saturday 11th May, before Britain face Canada on Sunday 12th May.

After a rest day, Great Britain meet Denmark on Tuesday 14th May before facing USA on Wednesday 15th May.

Finland are GB’s opponents on Friday 17th May, while Pete Russell’s side meet hosts Slovakia on Saturday 18th May.

Britain complete their Group A campaign against France on Monday 20th May.

“We had to take various factors into consideration when determining our ticket prices, including expenses to run the event,” explained Slovak Ice Hockey Federation president Martin Kohut.

“The primary criterion for us was to set affordable prices for all fans.

“We were trying not to exceed the price structure established by the Czech Republic when they organised the championship in 2015.

“It turned out to be successful. We are very confident that fans will be able to afford seeing their favourite teams play.”

Tickets will be available in three packages – individual games, event pass and a Follow Your Team pass.

A Follow Your Team pass for all seven of GB’s group games is available in two categories priced at €230 and €310.
