Great Britain forward Liam Kirk has been selected 189th in the seventh round of the NHL Draft by Arizona Coyotes.
The 18-year-old Rotherham-born forward won three medals with Great Britain last season.
He helped GB win gold and promotion to the top flight of the World Championship and also won gold with GB U18s, while taking home a bronze medal with Great Britain Under-2os.
Kirk said: “I don’t have any words for [being drafted], I’m just very excited and really emotional.
“I’ve been waiting for it and when it finally happens it’s an amazing feeling.”
Great Britain general manager, Andy Buxton, said: “Many congratulations to one of GB’s finest, Liam Kirk, on being drafted by Arizona today.”
