Great Britain Under-18 Women have named their captaincy team for this week’s IIHF World Championship Division 1 Group B tournament in Katowice.
Solihull forward Amy Trueman will captain the side with Verity Lewis (Ontario Hockey Academy) and Lizzie Saunders (Sheffield/Sutton) named as assistants.
GB get their campaign under way tomorrow against Denmark at 1pm (12noon UK time), while they will also face France (Sunday), Australia (Tuesday), China (Thursday) and Poland (Friday).
Britain assistant coach, James Ashton, said: “This is an experienced captaincy trio and we know the three girls will lead the team well.
“Leadership will be important with a young squad here in Katowice, so their roles will be important.
“They are popular girls in the dressing room and they lead by example on the ice.
“The coaching staff all agree they were a perfect fit for the captaincy roles.”
The games are being shown live on a webcast. Click here to watch.
