Following the successful recruitment drive this past season, with over 60 officials completing their course, there will be another round of Level 1 courses this coming season to encourage new officials to join the sport.

For the 2017-18 season, all on-ice officials in the UK will be managed under the auspices of Ice Hockey UK meaning there will be a single governing body for all on-ice officials whether they are in the Elite League, Scottish or English league system.

More information on the IHUK Referee Section structure will follow in due course, but for now the Officials Section are asking for expressions of interest from anyone who wants to join #TeamStripes.

There will be five Level 1 courses this coming season for new officials. They will be spread geographically to give as many people as possible the chance to attend.

They will be in West of Scotland, East of Scotland, North of England, South of England and Midlands. The courses will run between September and December 2017.

Anyone interested in taking a Level 1 course should complete an online form to register their interest with the Referee Section.

Former EPIHL and NIHL players looking to transition into officiating should complete this form.

All other interested parties should complete this form.

Once registered, IHUK Referee Section will contact prospective officials once dates and venues of courses is confirmed.

There will be more news on the IHUK Referee Section and exciting plans for a summer conference of all UK officials very soon.
