WE CAN DO MUCH BETTER, SAYS FARMER

Forward Robert Farmer says Great Britain can do much better as they were made to work for their 4-3 overtime win over Estonia in their second game at the World Championship (Division 1B) in Zagreb.

Pete Russell’s side beat hosts Croatia 4-1 last night, but they found life much tougher against the tournament’s fifth seeds.

Craig Peacock’s goal after 26 seconds had given GB the lead and they eased 3-1 ahead with two Russell Cowley goals.

But Estonia grew stronger as they game went on and took the game to overtime, before Robert Dowd scored the winning goal on the powerplay in the extra period.

“We must do much better and we all know that we can play better than that,” said Farmer.

“It was not a good performance but everyone is happy we got the win.

“We came under some real pressure from Estonia, especially in the third period.

“They are a much improved side and they gave us a run for our money.

“We made some mistakes and we must cut them out going forward in the tournament.”

There are no games tomorrow and GB next face Lithuania on Wednesday at 4:30pm (3:30pm UK time).
