Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed this morning in a speech from Downing Street that ice rinks will be able to open from 1st August.

Please find below a joint-statement from various ice sport stakeholders.

I’m sure you will all agree that it was extremely positive news to hear the government announce today (17th July) that ice skating rinks in England (confirmed) will be allowed to open from Saturday 1st August, albeit that this has been a difficult path to achieve.

Indicative dates have been agreed for skating rinks to reopen in Ireland from 7th August, while Scotland and Wales await an announcement on 30th July.

The EIHA will publish their own hockey-specific guidelines in the coming days.

Please bear with our rink operators while they work to ensure they provide a covid-safe environment.
