WYOG Day Six
Day Six
Following the practice run last night I found out I had finished in second place, which was a huge confidence boost. However the Italian had finished first and she had come second in the qualifiers in Finland, so our rivalry continued!
Today was another training session outside and it went really well. My skates have just been sharpened and they felt great. I was definitely excited for tomorrow.
Later on I got to watch Mille (Paterson) and Edward (Carstairs) in the ice dance. It was really weird to see my team mates competing and I saw how extremely talented they were at their sport. They were brilliant and most of Team GB were there to cheer them on.
In the evening I got to watch the big ice hockey game – USA v Canada. It was an unbelievable game which saw Canada win fairly comfortably.
Katherine takes to the ice at 6pm CET (5pm GMT) looking for Team GB’s first medal of the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games. This could also be Britain’s first Olympic medal of 2012.
