Condolences for Swindon Junior Jack O'DonnellSwindon Wildcats Ice Hockey and the Swindon Wildcats Academy were deeply saddened to learn this morning of the passing of young rising star Jack O'Donnell. Jack had sustained a serious injury to his neck in an accident on the 18th July and was being treated at Buckinghamshire's leading hospital in Stoke Mandeville. Tragically, his condition was such that he was not able to recover. A true emerging talent respected by peers, coaches and friends alike, Jack featured in Swindon's junior programme. A talented forward, Jack represented Team South West in the Conference championships at the Under-11, 13, 15 and 17 age groups as well as representing England in the Under-13, 14, 15 and 16 international teams. He had recently been invited to GB trials and was a GB U18 prospect. J ack was due to move to Swindon this August to commence a two year programme of study at New College and having turned 16 years old last Friday, was expected to break through to Swindon's senior ice hockey teams this season.
